Personal life
Ffjorren (pronounced “fe-or-en”) was born in Yankton, South Dakota. She was named after the Fjords in Norway. As her name was created specifically for her, it was given as a built-in stage name. Something that could break the ice from the very get go of her existence. The name means “Little princess of the Fjords.”
Shortly following her birth, Ffjorren moved to many cities in various states including Nebraska, Texas and Minnesota. One of her memorable moves took her from the very southern tip of Texas to a small city in central Minnesota, during a horrific snowstorm.
After a couple more moves, Ffjorren’s family finally stayed put in a small suburb of Minneapolis, MN from 8th grade through her high school graduation. She stayed in the Minneapolis area during most of her twenties, completing a BA in Journalism from the University of MN. She currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Career
Ffjorren’s love for singing and acting began shortly after she was able to speak. It was said that she always had a knack for “dramatic speech” because her mother went into labor with her during a college English exam.
As a child, she would present musical and acting performances at home, casting her brothers for roles as well. When her family vacationed or visited relatives, the shows followed. She also created and recorded music videos and commercials for fun.
In fourth grade, Ffjorren was cast as Peter Pan in her class play. It was the highlight of her school year. She wore green tights and a green sweater from her own closet (as costumes were limited). The whole experience enlightened her. She had never felt as free or comfortable in her own skin. She felt at home on stage; Ffjorren truly connected to the world of entertainment.
